The Tabuchi Theatre, unmistakable on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, is a major tourist attraction in Branson. The Tabuchi Theatre houses the most sought after ticket in town, Shoji Tabuchi starring in the most elaborate production in Branson.
Theater: On the outside the theater is a vision in purple and silver. At night the Taj Mahal-like theater lights up the strip. Inside, the lobby, most extraordinary in town must be seen. The opulence extends to the ladies room where there is a fountain, tin ceiling and is scented by 80,000 violets a month. The Victorian men's room is complete with a hand-carved pool table. Shoji is often there for a game during intermission. There are guards to keep members of the opposite sex out of both rooms, they are the most photographed restrooms in the U.S. If you forget your camera, photos are on sale at the gift shop. Or, gift shops, there are three major shops and a half-dozen souvenir booths.
The stage is constructed with hidden pop-up microphones, flying backdrops, Vegas style sets. The show is produced in a 180 degree view. Sound system and lighting very good.
Seating: 2,000 comfortable chairs with no view obstructed.
Handicap access: Excellent
Show: The hottest show, hottest ticket in Branson. Superb family entertainment. An elaborate show with laser light effects, magic carpets, fog machines. Shoji, one of the greatest entertainers in the world, is joined by his wife Dorothy and daughter Christina. Shoji's fiddle playing is only topped by the smile on his face. He truly enjoys entertaining and his 18-piece orchestra, one of the best, clearly show their enjoyment of him and the show. It's a top-notch show with class. Lots of dancing, plenty of music including Broadway, jazz, bluegrass, Disney, pop, classical, Latin, Big Band, gospel, and patriotic.
Shoji and cast members often come down to the audience, during intermission, to sign autographs and chat. That is when he isn't in the men's room playing pool.
