1999 - The Talk of the Town Theatre
has had a name change at the beginning of 1999. The name was changed to
The "Talk of the Town Theater" is one of the best equipped theaters in Branson and is the home of Wayne Newton's show and hosts world-famous headline entertainment throughout the season.
Theater: Barn style building, only on the elegant side. The stage curtain is unique, it is a mural of an old-fashioned Ozark hoedown. Sound and lighting are state-of-the-art. Large projection screens on either side of the stage bring live performers up close, and are also used for visual effects.
Seating: 2,200 of the most comfortable, wide seats with plenty of leg room. All seats have good visibility. Show is fairly straight on. The only seats where the may be a problem would be the first rows behind the wheelchair section.
Handicap access: Excellent. Wheelchair section at the back of the wide transverse aisle.
Special feature: Cry Room in the back with a bathroom and changing table.
Show: The shows are upbeat, fast-paced, family-oriented. The headliners are joined by professional bands, singers, and dancers. Newton is booked frequently throughout the season when not appearing in other venues such as Las Vegas or Atlantic City. All the hits and great oldies are performed along with new upbeat songs. The shows aren't extravaganzas, they're simple, filled with quality and class.
Tony Orlando - Tony Orlando performed in Branson during 1998 but he not scheduled to be performing in Branson in 1999.
Due to headliner scheduling, call ahead to see who is appearing, 417-335-2000.
