    Comments
"Madeline", the movie, is based on the children's books by Ludwig Bemelman featuring the spirited redheaded heroine, Madeline. The central story is the closing of the school which serves as a backdrop for the adventures. A dozen kids in two very straight lines, yea right. Let's see how straight the two lines are when you line them up.

The movie contains elements from the four books:

    Madeline
    Madeline and the Bad Hat
    Madeline's Rescue
    Madeline and the Gypsies
Filmed entirely on location in Paris.

    Family comedy.

Ludwig Bemelmans's Madeline was first published in 1939 and its five sequels have all become classics.
