The movie, "A Midsummer Night's Dream," is based on the play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. The tale of a night in which  roguish spirits turn the world of love on its head. This tale takes place at the turn of the Nineteenth Century - terraced hillsides, luscious woods, and a new two wheeled contraption called a bicycle.

Hermia's father, Egeus, desires that Hermia marry Demetrius. Hermia and Lysander escape from Egues into the woods. Demetrius, on his bicycle,  follows Hermia. Helena loves Demetrius. The four of them find themselves in the enchanted land of fairies, water nymphs and satyrs. It is Puck who who plays a few tricks with his secret love potion. And the party and chaos follows.

    Shot on location in Italy.

    Romantic Comedy.

Music - Simon Boswell does the score and music supervisor Robin Urdang puts the opera stars together: Luciano Pavarotti, Cecilia Bartoli, Roberto Alagna and Renee Fleming.
