He was only eight when he had a role in the BBC TV series, "Voyage of the Mimi". After graduating from high school, Ben moved to New York. Then it was on to California and many TV and movie roles, often being cast as a teen heavy. 

He and his best friend, Matt Damon, were down to their last dollars when the script they wrote, the emotional "Good Will Hunting" was sold and the movie begun. They basically wrote the script for themselves and co-star with Robin Williams and Minnie Driver.
