Jerry O'Connell, an actor in his first film at age eleven.
Jerry concentrated on his education and played bit parts while continuing
his studies and obtaining his college degree. He graduated from New York
University in May 1995 with a degree in Film and Television.
First Screen Role: Rob Reiner classic, coming of age film "Stand
By Me". Jerry played Vern Tessio, one of four friends who set out
on an adventure to find a missing boy's body. He co-starred with
River Phoenix, Corey Feldman and Wil Wheaton.
"Joe's Apartment" - Jerry plays Joe who comes to New York from Iowa
and suddenly finds himself with limited funds. He finds a cheap apartment,
but he must share. He becomes best friends with his talented roommates
- 50,000 cockroaches. This film won an award for Best Use of Animation
as a Special Effect in a Feature Film. It was a Busby Berkeley type
number performed by the cockroaches called the funky towel.
TV Series: After graduation Jerry hit the TV screen in the popular
sci-fi Fox series, "Sliders". This series is still seen on the cable
sci-fi stations.
