writing talents won her a scholarship to Edinboro College where she majored
in creative writing. After college this native Pennsylvanian pursued a
modeling career and touted the beauty products of Revlon and Clairol.
Sharon Stone made her movie debut in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories". She appeared in more movies in the next few years, "Bolero", "Police Academy 4", "Total Recall" - none were memorable roles. Then came "Basic Instinct" and Sharon Stone became a household name. Sharon could pick and choose her vehicles now, being a sought-after talent. She gained respect for her acting and received an Academy Award nomination for her role in Martin Scorsese's "Casino". Something many don't know about Sharon, she's a member of MENSA with an I.Q. of 154. Awards
